During their very first visit to Cambodia, the owners of Knai Bang Chatt realized that many local communities were in need of improved health facilities, clean water, more livelihood opportunities, and better children’s education. To this day, we continue to support the community with a focus on providing university scholarships.
Since its inception, the Hand in Hand program has invested nearly $1 million dollars (USD) to improve the education, health, and livelihood opportunities for over 600 families in the neighboring village of Chamcar Bei, 17 kilometers from Kep. These funds were raised by both private donations and a 3% contribution from the resort revenue. The Hand in Hand program has had a lasting positive impact on the lives of more than 3,000 community members.
Our unique business model expands “capital” to include long-term investments in the community and the environment, creating a unique and unforgettable experience for travellers. To this day, more than $1m has been invested in this way. We now focus on supporting our local funded school, with 500 students. With our guests, we also offer sponsorships for higher education for the most unprivileged students in our region.
Knai Bang Chatt has a profound ecological consciousness. We understand and embrace the concepts of sustainability, making impact, and being leaders in environmentalism. We recently obtained the Platinum Certification from the Green Growth 2050 standards.
Knai Bang Chatt is one of only three hotels worldwide to reach this level of achievement.
