mornings in the national park

We love mornings at Knai Bang Chatt and we offer some wonderful activities for a beautiful start to your day. Join our GM at 7.00am for a guided walk up into the Kep National Park taking in some breathtaking views of the region. We take a short tuk tuk ride to the start of the main walking track, the walk is graded easy and suitable for people of all levels of fitness. We walk 2.5 klm up to the summit stopping at a few vantage points along the way, the most spectacular being the Kampot lookout where you can not only see the town of Kampot in the distance but sweeping views of rice fields, Bokor Mountain, the island of Koh Karang and the Vietnamese Island of Phu Quoc. We then return and all up the walk is approximately 1.5 hours. You then return to the resort to enjoy a well-deserved nutritious gourmet breakfast.

On the walk you are almost certain to see squirrels darting through the trees and you may possibly also sight some monkeys. For avid bird watchers there are a variety of species that can be found in the park. The vegetation is very lush all year round and between April and October there are literally hundreds of beautiful butterflies fluttering everywhere. On some recent walks we have also seen some giant millipedes.

There are a number of other walks that can be taken up in the park and some for the very experienced bush walkers with an above level of fitness. We are so fortunate to have the Kep National Park at our back doorstep as there are not many National Parks remaining in Cambodia. Morning walks with the GM are offered complimentary to our in-house guests.
